Clarksville, Tennessee residents just received exciting news that will supply at least 1800 jobs over the next five years to Montgomery County. South Korean company, Hankook Tire will be opening its first plant in the United States right here in Clarksville. The plant will be located off of exit 8 and will encompass a 468-acre site. The company stated that hiring will come in phases and that the first 1195 jobs will be filled between 2014 and 2016. Hankook Tire has a 10 year window to add all 1800 jobs to the area. The announcement was made today by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam at the Wilma Rudolph Events Center which include Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers.
